angbw.jpgSometime in the early 1980s Angela voyaged to Boston on her own to start the second phase of her life. Her journey was begun – a petite, attractive Italian American girl, a bit shy but with a sharp sense of humor and an engaging presence. All the while, under the hood so to speak, was an engine of courage, gumption, vivacity, smarts, and curiosity. Apartments in Boston, Brookline, Jamaica Plain, and Cambridge followed. This is a big part of her story spanning 15 years or more. From UMass undergraduate work, to the Perkins School for the Blind, to the start of her Montessori career at the Kingsley School with all kinds of stops in between. Angela loved music and the thriving social scene around Boston and Cambridge. She loved Cape Cod.  She loved a good pub.  She loved……. life

Too many years since comments left. We love you Angelina and miss you more each year. You were our family lifeblood. You simply understood. We will always remember, never forget, to the end wish you were with us. Love to you always, ML

I just had a memory of Angela . I now busk in Harvard Sq. Today was too hot and everybody seemed to be out of town today. The 4th of July. Didn’t play long but among the one dollar bills were three fives ! Sitting here at my computer it just popped into my head, years ago I was to rendezvous w/ Angela in Harvard Sq. ( she was living in Brooklyn.) It was a Friday or Saturday night and the Square was hopping! There was this juggler who used to command Brattle Sq. (by the Florist.) When we finally found each other, Angela told me she gave him five bucks! Me, the tight wad, who knew Angela was always going through hard times with the bucks, scolded her! Thank God for people like Angela.

I dreamt of Angela the other night. Just like in real life Angela’s visits to my dreams are too infrequent and brief. And on her terms. She was mischievous. Please come again ,soon. Bart

Oh my husband’s sweet sister, how your brother so misses you as do I. How we loved spending time with you at our family gatherings since you would be the only one who truly understood. Be at peace, finally. From my heart, ML

just a brief note, its been a year, now, but you are still on my mind , Angela.your horoscope from a few weeks ago read, what makes you such a desirable companion is your ability to make others feel important. later there was this, your influence over your peers is much stronger than you realize.both are apt.

    Happy Valentine’s Day, Angela
You know, there’s a big hole in my life without you.
When I think of the years I was too angry with you to send you a card…aargh!
How can any ordinary woman ever replace you?
I don’t have to turn off my ringer anymore when I go to sleep , but that only makes me sad. Bart

lots of love to you m’dear,

Another great photo of Angela from the archives, Regal Angelina.Theatrical too, I see a bit of Katherine Hepburn there.Years ago Angela teasingly called me professore a couple of times, then I saw “the Philidelphia Story” again and that’s what Hepburn called Jimmy Stewart (un-Italiacized)

** July 31 ** Angela’s Birthday, a day usually approached delicately with that curious mix of sadness and celebration so essential to her. Yet she was quick to remember everyone else’s birthdays quite seriously and raucously as any true celestial presence would. So what do we do now, on this impossible day? Imagine you 46 years young, vital, teaching, a roaring lioness? OK ……then, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear
ps I hope you don’t find this card too corny

    powerful angelina

    love you…..
    jody
